July 20, 2025Jul 20 Re: 'Based on the billing address, the tax amount is automatically calculated.'I am based in the EU and take international orders across the EU, USA and beyond. Can I state a USD amount inclusive of taxes in all cases and the app/Stripe automatically calculate and INCLUDE the VAT as part of the total in all cases?Example: Service $5/month inclusive of VAT offered to all customers, irrespective of their country. Customer invoices would state:Germany (19% VAT):$4,05 (Service)$0,95 (VAT)Total $5,00Ireland (23% VAT):$3,85 (Service)$1,15 (VAT)Total $5,00USA (zero-rated):$5,00 (Service)$0,00 (VAT)Total $5,00Thanks.
July 22, 2025Jul 22 I noticed that there is a problem with the application update module, and not just this one—all of them have been updated for IPS 5. Stripe Checkout Gateway 1.1.0, which is intended exclusively for IPS 4.7.x, appears as outdated, and this is the latest compatible version. It asks me to update to Stripe Checkout Gateway 2.0.0.Basically, IPS 4.7.x users can no longer receive any updates. My opinion is that IPS5 should have separate update checking, as I saw with Adriano F.Thank you for your understanding, and please don't leave 4.7.x users in the dark...

I'm just trying to understand how all this works. If use your Stripe Checkout Gateway, is it considered 'no-code' integration, or API? I ask because of the very different tax calculation fess Stripe charge in the two situations, and the low value of the services I will offer.Tax Basic: Pay-as-you-go (PAYG) pricingPAYG pricing is usage-based and determined by the number of transactions or the sales volume that you process through Stripe Tax for tax calculation and collection. You only incur fees for transactions in jurisdictions where you have an active tax registration. The pricing differs based on the type of integration you use (no-code vs API).PAYG no-code integration with Stripe Billing, Invoicing, Checkout, and Payment LinksPAYG pricing for Stripe Tax no-code integration is 0.5% of the volume processed, in jurisdictions where you are registered to collect tax. This volume includes the complete transaction amount, including any calculated sales tax.PAYG Stripe Tax API pricingStripe Tax provides two distinct APIs: Calculations API and Transactions API. Both APIs are priced based on the number of API calls you make.Transaction API price per call: 0.50 USDCalculation API price per call: 0.05 USDhttps://support.stripe.com/questions/understanding-stripe-tax-pricingApologies for the questions - this might be obvious stuff to you and others here.
July 23, 2025Jul 23 Author Hello. We use Stripe API - https://docs.stripe.com/api/checkout/sessions/createRegarding taxes, it is really better for you to ask support, they are more competent in this matter.

Appreciated. Edited July 24, 2025Jul 24 by Colin
